Chandelier Happiness!!

**Time to get back to blogging! I took a break over the last couple weeks because my dad passed away on November 19th.  There's still a lot to take care of, but things are starting to get back to "normal" now.**

Have you seen all of the amazing chandelier makeovers out there?!

Great before and after by Marni at Sassy Sites! The shades are super cute!

I really like the more subtle shades here too!  (Eliesa, Pinterst Addict)

Isn't this one stunning?!?!  (Suzie from Suzie's Cottage)

I love this one too from Laura at Style-For-Style!

For the longest time I've admired all these lucky people who have the good fortune to come across chandeliers for cheap or even free.

Drum roll please...........

That's right! This baby is mine - FREE!  My boyfriend's mom was sick of it hanging in her dining room so it was replaced, and I think a while back I had mentioned I'd be interested in it, and TA DA!!!

Now the hard part is going to be to decide what to do with it.  Oh yeah, and did I mention I don't have anywhere to hang it? lol

Those painted "drips" on the "candles" will have to go. And I think I would add beads and/or crystals, but I'm not sure what color I'd want to paint it.

Let me know what you would do!

Have you re-done a chandelier? Add a link in your comment and I'll stop by and take a look!

  1. first of all, i am so so so so so ridiculously sorry to hear about your father. i'm actually not sure if it's helpful when people say this, about their own experiences, but i lost my father at the end of august. there are still moments when i lose it, but i think that is to be expected. one day at a time is the best motto for this terrible time.

secondly, i'm glad you feel like it's time to get back to blogging. but of course there's nothing to say you can't hang low again, you know? great new chandelier-i always like when ppl add a drum shade, but still add dangly goodies like you're talking about. i'm sure it'll look great no matter what you do!

  2. Jill, oh my gosh! I am behind on my blog reading and just saw that your dad passed! I am so sorry to hear that. I know that all of those thing people say start to sound so trite, but I really do want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and hope you are doing as well as possible. :)
